Cashback at supermarket

Hi. When you pay with a debit card at the supermarket and you get cash back, do you have to get amounts rounded to £10 like at the cash machine or can you get say £3.50?
Was just thinking this would be a good way to cut down on withdrawing too much cash. It really narks me when I have to withdraw a tenner and I only need a couple of quid because I know the rest will get frittered away.

In MY DAY you could withdraw £5.00 from the cashpoint. Bring back those days.:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0 -
I've tried getting £1 cashback in the past (to replace the £1 coin I'd used on parking, which annoyingly they deduct off the debit card at the till) but was told £10 was the minimum.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

Hi.
I work for Tesco and NO there is no minimum amount for cashback.
In fact you can do it 2 ways ..... say for example your shopping is £6.50 you can ask the cashier to make the payment up to say £10 and she will give you £3.50 change
or simply ask the cashier for the amount of cash you want and it can be as little as you like and up to £50
Hope this helps0 -

Further to my post above
I have one gentleman comes through my till regularly and also makes his amount up to the nearest £10, asks for his cashback in £2 coins and saves them for him and his wife to go on a cruise at the end of each year0 -
