SOA for BR Petition

Hi guys

Hope someone can help

I am helping a friend complete the BR petition - date is 7/7.(

We have gone through the forms and have completed most sections however we need some advice regarding the SOA part.

In the last 3yrs he has been sick from work for 23 months and only receives SSP when off - hence why he is declaring BR as his debts have built up - he has all of pay slips for the last 3 yrs etc - what income would he put in - he returned to work in March but only managed to work 3 -4 weeks before he was off again he is attempting to go back to work this weekend . His employer is symapthetic and does want him to be working for him.

Any advice would be grateful

Thanks in advance

  • i think he should put down his full pay with a note that he has been off sick iX weeks in the last 3 months and what hsi income was whilst on sick. In the interview when examiner goes through income and outgoings he should point out his income varies due to sick leave. he may still have to pay an Income Payments Agreement (if a surplus after essential outgoings) but an IPA can be stopped or varies if he notifies the OR of a change in circumstances (eg prolonged sick leave). He should also send in his last 2 years payslips before the interview: to support his explanation of reasons for insolvency.
