I could give you a run for money with that.
Is there a medical term for someone who sits staring at spreadsheets for hours? Maybe we could a start a new club SSA, Spreadsheet Starers Anonymous.0 -
I have an Excel workbook, with a page for each month interspersed with the bills for that month end(eg June, Bills Jun/July, July). The bills total up for 30th & 1st of month & are linked into the correct date on the pages, so any changes automatically update my main worksheets.
On each month's page I have what is due in on what date (i.e Child Benefit, Tax Credit, salary etc) in blue, outgoings in red (i.e. £xx.xx housekeeping, debit card payments etc) & balance (by calculation) is in black - unless its a debit balance which shows as -£0.00.
Then to the side of this I have my savings account into which my maintenance goes (Until end of August), with a running total there too, showing any other deposits (:rolleyes: ) and withdrawals (usually all of it!).
This way I can plan for expenses like birthdays, Christmas, car tax - for the first time EVER i am going to buy 12 months! :eek: (Will let you know if it really happens at end of July!)
I can balance this to my internet banking, so I know exactly how much is in my account (if any!) & if there is any left I can spend it. It works for me
but then again i DO like playing with Excel! (And yes, it DOES look like work to anyone glancing as they pass me!
)
