Anyone had their interest and charges stopped?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently 2 months into a DMP with the CCCS and getting concerened about creditors still imposing interest and charges onto my debts

I've emailed cccs about my concerns and am awaiting a reply

has anyone in the same situation as me had their interest and charges stopped?

Best Wishes

Luke

    Hi Luke

I am only paying a token payment at the moment, and will be going on to a debt management plan in the next few months when my income increases. Some creditors have stopped charges and interest, other just pile it on, at a ridiculous rate! Depends who your creditors are. Lloyds have been the worst, oh and Barclaycard.

I had a letter from MBNAs DCA today and in 2 months my account has gone up £1289 how can that even be legal?

My account is in default and I have asked them to stop adding stupid charges. They have written me a letter offering me all sorts of 'help'

    1) their fee charging DMP (which is the only one, they say, they are guaranteed to accept)
    2) a further secured loan
    3) Full and final settlement at 90%

That was good of them wasn't it! If those really were my only options I would give it all up now. It makes me mad that DCAs do this, some people who really don't know about their real options could easily fall for this and be in a much worse state. It's hard to enter into a sensible conversation though while they insist on adding over £600 per month in heaven knows what made up charges.

We are still having problems with people adding charges, but mainly because they are trying it on with us and saying they have not received the paperwork from CCCS, one has even gone as far to say they did not receive the first payment (however CCCS have told us they are having problems with this company not cashing payments)

The main ones we are having problems with are Lloyds TSB, Albion Collections and Natwest

Also Next have not accepted the proposal from CCCS. The balance on the account is £103 and the proposal for payment is £5, however Next have told us they do not accept anything less than £10
  • im with payplan (2 months on)
RBS are still adding iterest but no charges (the interest is more than double what im paying )
