Does anyone know what double double wool is??

Hello everyone,

I dont know if i'm posting in the right section or not as i am quite new to MSE...apologies if im not in the right bit.

I love knitted cardies for my little girl, and have found a lovely pattern. It says that the wool is double double, i have asked in several craft shops in town and no-one seems to know what it is or a good substitute. The needle sizes are 7 and 5. It also says that it needs it needs 12 balls of wool but doesnt say if its 50g or 100g. The pattern is quite old and its by Jarol.

Sorry for going on but any suggestions would be very greatly received

Katie
