Quick update to report that today was another NSD :j . Stayed in all day trying to finish up some Uni assignments so, in theory, I'm getting smarter and richer at the same time :rotfl:
I also joined PAD challenge today and transferred £5 to savings, but I don't think that counts as spending, right? Off to update the signature...Moving house fund = £1200.00 to goNSD's since 11/1/10 = 8Bronze, Silver & Gold Challenge started 14/1/10Achieved so far = noneBye-Bye Wobbly Belly = 6/30lbs0 -
Hi Turtle Power
What a great start you have made! :j Well done you!
I'm a student too, second time at uni for me...and its blooming hard after 5 years in full time work!
Still it'll all be worth it...repeat this x100 per day!

Hi Triangle. Thanks for your kind words.
It's my second time around too...I went back as a mature student and find it quite intimidating at times when 95% of my class are younger than me and the remainder are mature mature students...i.e older than some of the tutors. Still, only four months left to go now...I can't wait to get a 'proper job'
On the savings front...I've just transferred £3 over today. Don't think it'll be a NSD as I need to head to uni soon for a 2pm lecture, so I'll likely end up with car parking charges if I can't find a free spot. Ah well, at least the walk will be good for me...might help shed my operation weight I'm still carrying :rotfl:Moving house fund = £1200.00 to goNSD's since 11/1/10 = 8Bronze, Silver & Gold Challenge started 14/1/10Achieved so far = noneBye-Bye Wobbly Belly = 6/30lbs0 -
Urgh. I've had a bad day today. Made a transfer to the savings of £3 earlier today, which is about the only good thing.
Went to Uni today and realised that I've fallen behind in a few of my classes; so now I'm really going to have to pick up the pace or I'm really not going to do well. I ended up feeling pretty inadequate after that...so I went and spent £1.50 on chocolate muffins. So now I feel inadequate and fat
Though I have just seen this and all seems a little better in the world again. Far tastier than any amount of chocolate muffins :grinheartMoving house fund = £1200.00 to goNSD's since 11/1/10 = 8Bronze, Silver & Gold Challenge started 14/1/10Achieved so far = noneBye-Bye Wobbly Belly = 6/30lbs0 -
Well, I've had a 'busy' weekend. Saturday I had a lie-in whilst I listened to David Tennant & Catherine Tate fill in for Wossy...I was so relaxed when I (finally) got out of bed I almost didn't care that about two inches of snow had appeared overnight. This is a lie. Of course I care; I'm absolutely (and probably, irrationally) terrified of the ice since my knee operation last year. I've been pretty much confined to the house during all of the bad weather and just when I started getting out again it comes back
I can't even walk properly on normal pavement anymore, so I'm definitely not going out in this unless I really have to.
Saturday afternoon I headed out to work...got weighed on the way there and I discovered I have put on a staggering 2st 5lbs since my operation. That's a small child! I knew my clothes were tighter but that's unbelievable. I am officially 'overweight' with a BMI of 27.7. I'm physically incapable atm of being as active as I used to be, but I'm going to have to start trying more from now on; I don't feel good about my physical appearance anymore and people have started commenting on my size. My quest to lose 30lbs starts tomorrow, I promise.
Anyway, enough of the whingeing and onto the money saving...I earned £0.94 interest this month so today I have transferred £38.06 over to my savings account to bring my target now down to a nice round £1300.00. I get paid tomorrow too, so hopefully I'll have earned enough to sustain my £3 PAD adventures. I'll be a millionaire before I know it
Oh, and lastly, I think I'll add another mouth-watering treat to cheer myself since Friday's worked so wellMoving house fund = £1200.00 to goNSD's since 11/1/10 = 8Bronze, Silver & Gold Challenge started 14/1/10Achieved so far = noneBye-Bye Wobbly Belly = 6/30lbs0 -
Ack! - Can't stay here too long, so many things to do and so little time....
Haven't updated for a few days as I've been mega-busy. I've also not made any transfers since 31/1 so I'll have to do that right after I log off. I think I'm going to transfer £20 over to my savings so I'll take that off the signature in a bit.
Have been stuck indoors this week working on essays and working from home in my other jobs, so I haven't really spent any money besides the £30 I spent on the weekly groceries yesterday. I'm trying to catch up so I have a sensible workload, but it just doesn't seem to be happening. I can't wait until May when it's all over and done with.
Went to the hospital today for a leg check up - got told I really need to join a gym to strengthen my leg up properly - so it looks like I'm getting prescribed gym sessions on the NHS. Anybody had these before? I haven't really heard about it before and I'm not sure how it works...do I have to pay anything at all, or is it just a contribution? I'll find out more in a couple of weeks when I go back to sign the paperwork, but I want to know nowSo impatient. With any luck these sessions will help me shift my wobbly bits too so I'm looking forward to them.
Right, I'm off to PAD to declare for the day, then back to the essay

Not much to report today but I like having this diary to keep me on track, even if I'm the only one who sees it
Yesterday was a NSD for me, and it's looking as though today may be the same :j I don't think I'm doing too badly since it's only been 3 weeks since I started this diary.
Have also transferred £3 to my savings today so I'm getting closer to my target every day :T I just need to put some cash in my current account soon though, as it's running a little low for me to keep up these daily payments.
I also managed to get my essay finished yesterday, so that's good. Already have a head start on the next one, and hoping to have it finished by Tuesday at the latest, as I'm working all weekend. So much work and so little time. Decided to give myself a day off today though, just because I know I'll be working so hard for the next four days. I think I might go for a nice relaxing walk now that the snow/ice has cleared, then come back and have a soak in the bath with a good book before I see OH tonight.Moving house fund = £1200.00 to goNSD's since 11/1/10 = 8Bronze, Silver & Gold Challenge started 14/1/10Achieved so far = noneBye-Bye Wobbly Belly = 6/30lbs0 -
Well I've just had a heck of a busy weekend work-wise. Worked overtime all weekend and got paid for that this morning so was able to put £88 toward my house fund :T Only £1200 to go now.
Also weighed myself on my way to work on Saturday again and I've lost 6lbs in a week :j I can't believe it, especially since I've been sat at my desk mostly for weeks trying to get my essays done so not really exercising as much as I know I should. It's given me a fantastic boost this week but I know that won't happen again...I'm only aiming to lose 1lb a week as I know it's the best way.
Haven't had any NSD's over the weekend either; I keep popping out for things like milk & bread. Today has been a NSD so far though and the cupboards are fully stocked so *fingers crossed* I won't decided I need to go out and buy chocolate or somethingMoving house fund = £1200.00 to goNSD's since 11/1/10 = 8Bronze, Silver & Gold Challenge started 14/1/10Achieved so far = noneBye-Bye Wobbly Belly = 6/30lbs0 -
