Giblets

Where do all the poultry giblets go to? Into pet food probably. Most poultry seem to come without any these days. I am wondering if anyone knows how/where to buy giblets. Frozen would do.
When I was small my Gran used to make giblet pie and giblet soup and they were truly delicious. I can't seem to buy any even from my local village butcher, although he can get chicken livers. I can get lambs hearts, and even ox heart (beef heart to you young 'uns), and of course the usual livers and kidneys, but not poultry. Perhaps if I lived in a city with ethnic shops I might have more luck.
Younger (and not so young) people seem to despise offal of all kinds but it is actually very healthy and tasty, low in fat, lots of vitamins and such like. And usually very money saving! People don't know what they're missing.

Actually, it's not a weird question....I wondered the same recently when I noticed that even the free range & organic chickens in the supermarket don't come with the giblets included. The only place locally where I can get a chicken with them in is our village farm shop, & that's a free-range fairly locally reared chicken. I like to make giblet stock which makes the best gravy in my opinion and the giblets then make a nice additive-free dinner for our cat. I expect it's either some health or safety nonsense to do with idiots cooking the chicken with a plastic bag inside, or supermarkets assuming that no-one knows what to do with them any more. The way I look at it is that if I'm paying a premium price for a cruelty-free chicken, then I want all of it and that includes the giblets!
