New kitchen challenge - 2010

We love cooking and have just ordered a new kitchen to replace our falling-to-bits one which we have patched up about as far as possible. Now, before going 'Old-style', we'd have slapped it straight onto a credit card or taken out a loan without a 2nd thought and we were still a bit tempted this time, but having worked hard to pay a lot of stuff off over the last couple of years, we decided to have the 0% Buy now, pay in 12 months option and for our big 2010 financial challenge, to embrace 'Old-style' big time in order to get together the money - £6,500 - in time for paying the bill. Even with our new financial heads on, it seems like a big challenge but having been inspired by what people manage to save/pay off on these forums, we're positive about going for it. And now I'm off downstairs to get the breadmaker & stockpot on!
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
