Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had dealt with these guys before - I have recently signed up with them and currently pay them £100 per month. I have only made 2 payments so far but as yet no payments appear to have been made to my creditors and I am still being hounded by phonecalls - although I expected that to continue!

I was just wondering if anyone had dealt with them before and if they are any good, the guy on the phone was very re-assuring and helpful I just hope that wasnt part of his sales tactic!

Cheers

you would be better advised to use CCCS, Payplan Or CAB as these are free and so use all your money to pay your creditors

If they are 'handling your Debt Repayment Plan' then I would advise ditching them. They can do nothing for you that a Fee-Free service such as the Consumer Credit Counselling Service or Payplan or CAB couldnt do for you.
Do you know howw much of your hard-earned £100 is going to the Creditors and how much is going in their pockets....didn't think so.

I would be re-assuring if I was making money out of you. Sorry to sound so blunt but these Companies are just blood-suckers.

I have done a deby remedy thing on the cccs website but theyve advised me to just make token payments of £1 - now although better short term as I would free up some money Im debating if its better to do that or to pay at least a bit off the debts and get them cleared sooner - DebtSolve told me that by using them I would clear my credit card debt (which isnt massive) in two years and thats why I went ahead....but now im not so sure?!

best to post up an SOA .. difficult to advise without knowing the details
  • If CCCS are only telling you to make token payments at the minute then you obviously don't have enough surplus income to support yourself/family as well as paying a lot more off your debts.

Debtsolvedirect are there to make money out of you by seemingly removing all your debt worries, of course they will want as much of your income as possible to service the debt so they get more from it, but if it's going to take 2 years, can you live on your current budget for the next 2 years? is there any room in there for emergencies that may crop up?

Any Debt management plan is an informal agreement anyway which means that it cannot be guaranteed to stop hassles from creditors or interest still being applied, but tbh if the creditors haven't even seen a penny of this money yet despite being 2 months into it, it's not surprising they are hassling you.

phone up CCCS or payplan for advice.

But, as money is obviously v short, why give Debtsolve £100 and only 50% (or less) goes to your Creditors.

As others have said, its best to post a SOA and see you situation.

I hope that you have not misunderstood CCCS. They normally ask clients to make a token payment to their Creditors whilst the dmp is being sorted out.

Please stop paying Debtsolve to just act as a 'forwarding mailbox' to your Creditors.

I thought that would probably be the case! How do I post a SOA?

I'll look into Payplan in a second or maybe pop down to my local citizens advice - and I think i'll cancel the direct debit to Debtsolve too!

Well done Manoona, they'll have a good whinge at you ( and keep the money you have sent ) but it will be the right decision in the long-term.

Ask debt solve or whatever there name is for a statement of where they have sent the money you have paid them.
Ask them for a refund of the the money you have paid them as they have obviously not kept there side of the deal.
I would advise if they have not paid any of your creditors a thing speak to your bank and make a direct debit indemnity claim against the moneys paid, and try and get it back.
