It's my (snowballing) Birthday!!!

Hi all

This time last year, I had NO money, literally nothing, even before January began. I get paid early for Christmas, over-spent because I can't add up (or subtract, either way i got it wrong!), then was forced to go overdrawn in January (without permission, so tons of fees). That set into motion a year of money being even more of a problem, and playing catch-up.

So, i created my very first snowball, and stopped lurking.

I am now 1 snowball year old, and have paid off £3,819.62!

Who'd have thought it?!!
Oh for Goodness' Sake!! Here we go again :(
Total debt £4,839.51 (Still adding it up though :( )
Now : £4, 759.81

No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T

    Hi Velma

It's weird, but I have paid off that much without going the extra mile - they;ve become 'bills' - does that make sense?

It has left me skint most months, but at least now it's a constructive skint!!

From what Ive read it seems snowballing would be:
Paying as much as you can on the card/bill with the highest APR then paying the minimum payments on everything else.

    Congratulations and well done :T

Snowballing is the the most effective way to tackle your debts, it's really helped me to prioritise my debts, it's great seeing my debts going down and it's much easier when you get the hang of it.

    Good luck for the future.

Well done! I think when you're in this for the long haul like we and a lot of others are, its easy to miss the fact that every month the debt goes down... you lose that early rush of achievment when you start out!

Im happy to say that within reason I have a more comfortable life now. Still cant afford a holiday or wild spends, but the stress has settled, and in 2 years or less I will be debt free :D

    Hang in there!
