Calypso Mattress

Hi

Can anyone please recommend where from to buy a Calypso pocket sprung and memory foam mattress?

Also, some websites offer it as having 1000 pocketed springs whereas other have it a 1500, which I find a bit confusing.

Please don't make suggestions about other mattresses, I am only interested in the Calypso. If you know where to buy it cheap, please let me know. TA.

The Calypso used to be a high quality 2 sided medium to firm, pocket sprung with memory foam mattress. However they have messed about with the specifications, and in some cases lowered the quality. The spec will differ from retailer to retailer. If you want to be sure of what you are getting, then avoid.


You were after a mattress in October, have you still not bought one?

Tim, you are right, I did buy a mattress in October - and are now looking for another one for my daughter.

You said they have changed its specification, this is what I have found:

• 50mm memory foam on 1000 pocket spring units (in standard king Size mattress)
• Side stitched borders with wollen tufts
• Hypo-allergenic
• 10 inch (250mm) deep mattress
• Luxurious hand tufted four-way stretch knitted fabric

The Calypso used to be 11" deep with 2" (50mm) of memory foam on both sides so that it was a two sided mattress.

The spec you give is just a basic one, and doesn't go into detail. Part of the reason that I stopped selling the Calypso and eros was because they were lowering the spec by changing the internal components without telling us. But they were still charging us for the higher spec.

Are you saying that Apollo are lowering the standards of their mattresses?

As this thread seems to be about matteresses I need a new one but have very little money. Any opinions about the Silentnight Miracoil 3? need a king size and makro have them on offer for about £100........thoughts please

Do a search on that brand on the MSE forums before even considering them
