The Sherbrooke Castle Hotel is lovely (though no idea about prices). My friend stayed the night before her weddding and the night of their wedding before heading to Madiera. It's also fairly close to motorway links for the M8 and M77 if they are flying from Glasgow or Prestwick. I'm sure the hotel could arrange a taxi - there's be a boundary fee so it wouls be at least £15 to Glasgow airport. Don't know about Prestwick.

If they just want to be as close as possible to the airport then there's a Travelodge and Holiday Inn at Glasgow airport.

PS Sorry - I'm not allowed to add links as I'm still a newbie - if you google Sherbrooke Casltle Hotel, it should come upas it has it's own website.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel in Glasgows West End area. It is probably the poshest one in Glasgow and would be lovely to stay as a treat for the newly weds... It is part of the Hotel Du Vin group

Also it has great reviews on tripadviser, see below

    Good luck :T

  • The two suggested by the above posters are all lovely. The Hotel du Vin is at 1 Devonshire Gardens in the west end and is a LOVELY hotel but very expensive. The Sherbrooke website is here.

In the city centre you might also consider the Malmaison, the (rather new - opened in Nov) Blytheswood Hotel or the Abode.
  • Hi,

The Brunswick Hotel in the Merchant City is different but gets good reports, although maybe it’s too lively thereabouts.

    Hope everything goes well.

The Glynhill in Paisley also has free parking & transport for airport users.

The Grovensor in the west end (I think it's a Hilton now), is absolutely lovely.

I spent last weekend there, the first night our room overlooked the Waitrose car park, the radiator dial thingy (technical term) was missing, so room was far too hot. Bed was nice and big and comfy. The second night after complaining about the heat (complained on the Friday night before going out, then on Sat morning after a hot restless night) got moved into a different room looking out over the Botanic Gardens, smaller bed but a working radiator.
Sometimes i surprise myself by being right.

I got married in and stayed at One Devonshire Gardens and it was lovely. The rooms are not OTT unless you pay for the really expensive ones, but they are understated luxury. I loved it!

Pretzel - you just made me realise, I never wrote a review for Tripadvisor for it, and I usually do! I would have given it 5*s though.
