The obvious one is jobcentreplus. Also using the direct websites of the company. What does everyone use? I would like something that searches alot of places instead of very little if possible.:D
Thankyou for the replies!:D

Social Networking:
http://www.gumtree.com/jobs – the link is for London jobs; to get jobs from other parts of the country, select your location from the left hand menu. Be VERY careful with this as not all jobs are genuine. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is!
Area specific:
Local newspapers (although many advertise through Fish4Jobs)
Local councils – their websites can be found through the following link: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Dl1/Directories/Localcouncils/AToZOfLocalCouncils/DG_A-Z_LG
BrionaIf I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0 -
Good list by briona. I would personally avoid gumtree as rule of thumb - if employers advertise on there they would also advertise elsewhere... sticking to gumtree is a bad idea - a lot of genuine ads - I know ebay has invested in changing the reputation but lets just say I have come across 9 dodgy ones in 4 months from there.0

Agree to an extent, but due the the VERY high cost of advertising jobs in the UK, many genuine companies try these sites as they are free. If they are not willing to give real contact details, address and pay structures after one e-mail, then yes avoid them.unemployedJCP wrote: »Good list by briona. freelancer.com is a great website to start with. Odesk and elance are more towards professional grounds! if you are a professional virtual assitant or a professional ghost writer the latter are meant for you0

I just applied for part-time work with the 2011 Census. They have lots of full and part time temp jobs on their website. I cant post a link but if you google 'Census Jobs' you'll find their website.0

I recommend using a job search engine like Check4Jobs.com as most job sites like CV-Library, Monster, The Ladders, Telegraph, Careerbuilder, Incisive Media and Gumtree use job search engines to advertise their jobs. This mean you don't have to visit loads of job sites as all the jobs will be in Check4Jobs.com search engine.
Check4Jobs also provide a free CV distribution service called iCV to all jobseekers that will save you hours registering your CV to all the major job sites and set jobs by email. Fill in one form here check4jobs.com/icv/register and your done!
