Happy New Year 2 all ! !
Could anyone give advice on the best Loan company to go with, there are so many I cant decide. One without a guarantor would be useful. Daughter in need of ski trip & funds are LOW.

Thought this forum was for others help not their personal opinion ! !
Not much snow, not the same as going to Switzerland with all your friends really ?

If your daughter's over 18 she should be funding it herself; if it's a school trip most schools have monthly payment plans and sometimes financial assistance if you're on a low income.

My daughter has yet to go on a secondary school trip - she's in year 9 - but is fine about it as she knows we can't afford them.

Also the fact that her Dad, my husband, passed away recently I feel that this trip will be beneficial for her as she discussed this with him. Thanks for your comment though.

Does not alter the fact that you cannot afford it.
The fact that you ask for a non guarantor loan suggests to me that your credit history might not be the best - my condolences over the loss of your husband but it does not change my advice.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I still think your daughter's age is relevant, as is your income and the original plan for funding the trip. You could try a credit union - most would be sympathetic to the circumstances.

Thanks for all your comments, she is 12. Had to give up work n not used to this benefit system. Credit history fine but found some loan companies dont want to know when your on your own brining up 4 kids. Also the fact that awaiting probate does not count.

The only place I would suggest would be your own bank, as they probably have their own internal score for you.

Okay, definitely a job for a credit union! Talk to the school as well as they'll have come across the situation previously and may have links with local Trusts and charities that might help.

Just Google "credit union <your location>" and contact them as soon as possible. It's also worth going to a local advice centre to check you're getting all your entitlements.
