Good bottle of wine - cheapish

try going to Oddbins and asking them for a recommendation in your price range.
if they are into wine, m&s own brand or tesco special offer unlikely to impress!
but if they are good friends, they wont mind what you bring anyway. if you are really worried, why not take them a box of chocs or flowers/similar instead?0 -

I agree, try visiting Oddbins , Victoria wine, Threshers, etc and see if you can get a taste before you buy!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0 -
I got to know the bloke who stocked up the shelves in Tesco, and he was great. Always kept an eye on a nice little deal ,and stashed the odd bottle for when I came in. One he recommended, and we were impressed with was the Brown Brothers Tarrango. Its about six quid, but goes on special occasionally. Gotta grab it fast though, apparently the manager of the store is a fan."Don't critisise what people look like, how they speak, where they are from, and what they are called. They cannot help it.
Do critisise what they say, and what they do, especially if what they say is different to what they do. They can help that"

Put in how much you want to spend and which supernarket you are likely to go for it and it will tell you which are the best to go for!
Hope that helps

Agreed...lovely stuff. Very nice for a lower-priced wine. The problems of the world cannot possibly be solved by skeptics(sic) or cynics whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were.

The Times' top summer Reds under £8 may be of help.

Thanks for everyone's help and suggestions, I went for the Wolf Blass in the end as it was reduced in Asda.
As I have a 2 hour journey in predicted temperatures of 33 degrees I decided against chocolates which might melt or flowers which would wilt:)
