28 day pill organiser

Hi
I'm looking for a 28 day (or longer!) pill organiser for my Mum. She has to take tablets twice daily and I'm concerned that she's not always taking them. I thought this would be worth a try. I live away so can't be around every day or every week to refill it, so I need something that I can fill and will last longer, but I'm struggling to find one. I wondered if anybody could recommend one that is preferably quite reasonably priced?
Thanks
Gwen

Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending

I've never seen one but I do have two 7-day boxes for my Mum so they can filled at the same time and labelled for which week they should be started on.
Our chemist also does a box-filling service so it would be worth asking at your Mum's local pharmacy. They keep the tablets, fill the boxes and deliver them to the house every week.0 -
My 87 year old father has his tablets placed in trays. They have 7 day supply in each tray and have the time of day that they should be taken. This is done by our local pharmacy which is now run by the Co-Op. The pharmacist actually suggested this course of action when my mother passed away a year ago. My mum always used to make sure my dad took his tablets.
They know when his prescription is due, collect it from the surgery and prepare the trays. I collect them for my father once a month.
It is an excellent system but I am still not convinced my dad takes the tablets when he should as often as he should. We have got a small build up of packs. However, other then my being there whenever a tablet is due, there is very little else I can do. My dad is fit and well for his age and insists he always takes his tablets!0 -
Hi
Thanks for the suggestions, however the issue with the pharmacist preparing the boxes is that my Mum's medication comes from different sources. Some is prescribed via her GP and collected from the pharmacist as normal and the rest is delivered by a home treatment team.
I want to put all the medication in an organiser to help ensure she takes it all and I can't be there every week long term to do it.

If you live anywhere near a Home Bargains, they have the 7 day ones for about 69p. Maybe think about getting 4 of these?0

You could ask if the home treatment team would drop them off at the pharmacy. There must be arrangements in place for people who don't have carers to sort out their tablets.0 -

I have seen one in Sainsburys on the pharmacy counter - it looks a bit like a journal from the outside and opens up like a book.
You could also try this site

There are versions with alarms too on the same site 'Living made easy' but because I am a new user I can't post a link (annoying eh?). If you go to the site's home page, then go to product guide and choose 'bathing' and then 'personal care' you'll see a section on 'medication management' at the bottom - which then takes you to links to dosett boxes with alarms and other gadgets that might help.
The website is run by a charity called DLF, you can also ask a questions to their occupational therapists in their forum - use the link in the menu at the top of their site.
They also have a site called AskSARA (google it) which allows you to answer questions on medication management based on your needs and then gives you advice and product ideas based on your answers.
Hope that helps.
