Stuck in Mortgage - Can't Get My Ex to Agree to Sell

Can any body offer advice, I bought a house over six years ago with my EX. At the time we were struggling financially and bought a shared ownership property but had debts and could only get a sub prime lender to loan us the money. She left after 2 years and went back to Spain and has left no forwarding address. She has a tendency to ignore my emails etc. The house is run down as when she left there were a lot of debts which I have been using the majority of my salary to pay off with no help from her.
She has also run away from all the debts in her name and I have had debt collectors etc. chasing her for the last 3 3/4 years.
I have met someone else and want to move on, but I am stuck with a mortgage with both our names on. I would like to either re-mortgage as I have managed to repair my credit score and want to get a better deal. Or sell the property and move on, but she keeps ignoring my requests to sort this out. There is no equity in the property and I need advice on a way forward.

Sorry to say this but she owns the house as much as you do. The only way you can have it transferred to your sole name is with her permission or by order of the court. You need to see a solicitor.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

See a solicitor.
I'm sorry if that isn't the answer that you want to hear, but no poster on a mesageboard is going to resolve this for you.
You want to change the owership of a property and without the agreement of all owners you're going to need solicitors / courts to assist.
Big bills if you can't come to some private arrangement with your ex.0 -
i have a slightly similar situation! people say get the court to do it, but no one (even the local court) tell you how to do it yourself (this i believe can be done...) i too would like to know how... (GOOD LUCK BYE THE WAY!)0

As mentioned above..take legal advice..it is possible to apply to a court for an "order for sale".0
