Blacks - money saving!

I was out shopping today and the icy winds were really freezing my ears off!
I popped into Blacks (the outdoor shop) and found they had a range of winter woolies for sale, which were very popular! However, the pre-printed prices on all the tags had been blacked (no pun intended) out with a marker. I picked up a cosy hat which clearly had £9.99 printed on the tag, visible through the marker pen and took it to the checkout.
It rang up as £12.99! Clearly the management was trying it on and had marked up the prices on the winter warmers for unsuspecting shoppers - or their VAT increase calculations were out!
I pointed out that it was still visibly price marked at £9.99 and the cashier discounted it without blinking an eyelid...
I did it quite loudly, and the queue was quite long, so I hope the people behind me heard and did the same thing!
BTW - the guy before me bought a winter coat for £180, and I got a similar one (a good brand) in TK Maxx for just £30!!

Wow, thats ridiculous. Hopefully everyone behind you did hear you and double checked everything that they had.
I've been in similar situations before where certain clothing items would be hanging on a sales rack and then once you get to the register with 20 other items they try to skip the discount prices thinking you won't notice.
Now a days you pretty much have to watch out for EVERYONE, its horrible..0 -
Doesn't surprise me.
Ordered a North Face jacket that was reduced in their online sale.
Stated "in stock".
Today, a week later.. email saying the orders cancelled cos they've no stock.
Absolute joke.0 -
