bored of flypaper

My OH and I don't like to use insecticides in the house because of our pets but we get tons of flies in during the summer because we leave a window open for the cats to come and go as they please (yes I know they're spoilt). Flypaper is just disgusting and last summer we discovered one of our cats had managed to get herself stuck to it (yes I know she's an idiot). Those big bluebottles turn my stomach I hate them in the house and I've just discovered the most efficient and environmentally friendly way of dealing with them. I bought a Venus Fly Trap. It snaps them up in no time. It's cheaper than any alternative and he's sort of become a pet himself now, called Boris. (yes I know we're sad). I highly recommend one.
My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

Fantastic idea! Constantly leave our back door open in the summer and often find blue bottles hovering around the cats food. Worst case was when I emptied the bowl and found maggots....yeuch! gross!!

presume you can get a venus fly trap from garden shops or do you have to try somewhere specialist?

    Cheers!

I got mine in homebase but when googling for more information on how to take care of him I found this place which also sells them if your local shops don't have one. http://www.littleshopofhorrors.co.uk/customer/pages.php?pageid=3

Oh that's a fab idea! I bought an electric fly zapper this week, it was £5.99 in Aldi and has already claimed several casualties.
