    Xmas Saver!
I know how you feel, sometimes it hard to say to the GP what or how you feel, and turn to something else instead.

For me my major debt was when I fell pregnant (back in 2002) I went from earning 1k a month to £250 ssp I had really bad morning sickness from b4 the blue stick went blue... found out was pregnant at 5 weeks, went off work at 6 weeks never to return. During that time at 6mths gone my back gave way put on crutches, and 7mths gone walked out of a violent and abusive relationship.
My answer to everything was running away - not literally but holidays it was the only place I felt safe.

7 years later, I have a beautiful daughter, still on crutches, still try to escape, thou my dd has inherited my itchy feet and has a long list of places she wants to go to.

I know when I was pregnant, with everything that was going on, and for 2 yrs afterwards I was under councelling, as I'd gone in for a sicknote for the morning sickness, 30 mins later, half a box of tissues, the world came out, not quite what she was expecting.
Its not easy to pick urself up, I always say once you've hit rock bottom theres only one way to go and thats up, but (in the nicest of ways) others can pick you up, but its not a stable hold as you haven't dealt with it yourself.

You've taken a really big step by starting the thread, just think of it as baby steps, a baby just doesn't run, its roll over, crawl, - you get what I mean and that is how life has to be for some of us.

I set myself little challenges, and time plans, Imjust get this done by that date, its one of my simple steps to stay on the staright and narrow, its not easy sometimes I fail, but I look why I failed, did I expect too much of myself?

    Sorry I waffle on....

Its just a thought I know your not ready to speak to ur gp at the moment, but when the time feels right, is there another doctor you could speak to or maybe a friend who could come with u,or your partner. Or even write it down, how your feeling and hand it over during a consultation.

I'm sorry about your nan, I lost mine before my 18th Bday, even thou next mth its 21 years, I could recall the events as thou it was yesterday, but then I think what would she say, most proberly be so pround that my daughter is named after her.

    back to the money.

When you feel ready pop the SOA up (when I did mine 1st debt free wanabee thread,it took a month for me to pluck up the courage to do an SOA - so don't worry).

The next step is look at the credit card bills are you meeting the minimum payments, is there any that are in arrears, if so how fardown the line.

Even if you don't feel ready to put the SOA on, what about a meeting in the middle, with the debts, even if its

Total after normal payments (section that says amount for debt repayment)

Sum of money left £300 pm
    Card 1, £1,800 29.9% - min £50 - behind 3 payments
    Card 2 £200 - 26% -min £20 - uptodate
    Od - £1,000 - monthly charge £20 - pay 0 off.

By taking a little step it all helps. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
