Fajita / Bread Wraps

Options
Hi all,

I have some fajita wraps that are about to go off any second. I would freeze them but I have already done that and this is the defrosted lot.

I think I recall some one doing them once cooked and in wedges like home made chips for dips.

Does anyone know how I could even go about this? Do I bake / fry /

Anyone?

(I really need to something other than spread them with chocolae spread and roll them up and eat them....I"m suposed to be dieting!)

Many many thanks

Do you like Fajitas? A big favourite for tea in our house! They're really easy to make. You can use strips of any meat - turkey is cheap, or just sliced peppers and onions if you're veggie. Cook in a frying pan and add chilli and spices and ideally a squeeze of lime, serve sizzling with the pile of wraps (which you have warmed in the oven) and small dishes of any of these: guacamole, sour cream/yoghurt, salsa, and refried beans. Let everyone wrap their own. Yum!

Or do them as enchiladas, which is basically the same thing, but you put the chicken & veg into the wraps, roll them up, put them into a baking tray/dish, pour salsa and grate cheese over the top and bake till brown. Delish. Having that on Friday, in fact!

Thanks - thats what we had last night, these are the left overs I wasn't anticipating as DH loaded his wraps right up rather than having a few skinny wraps!

If they're corn tortillas, you can just spray them with a little cooking spray and then cook them in an un-oiled frying pan. With wheat tortillas, you're better off using them for fajitas/enchiladas, or (my favourite), quesadillas! Pile a load of cheese, chopped spring onions and peppers onto a tortilla, pop a second one on top, then dry fry the 'sandwich' until the cheese melts - slice into wedges and serve with salsa. Yummy!
Or fill with philly, salad, sliced meat etc, roll up, then slice into pinwheels - great alternative to sandwiches for kids.

You can bake them and make tortilla chips - as in the crisp variety.
Simply cut into triangular shapes - slice in half, then cut into 1/8ths or whatever. Bake in oven for a few mins - doesn't take long so watch them! Once cooked, suppose you could cool them and put in airtight container - never happened in this household!
  • Make a toasted layered sandwich.
Lay one wrap in frying pan and cover with cheese, ham, onions and chilli sauce.
Put another wrap on top and fry on both sides.
Continue doing this until you have used about six/eight wraps.
    Cut up into portions.
    Absolutely delicious.Mmmmm.
When life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!
