barclaycard charges !!!

hi
gone onto a dm doing it myself.Barclaycard have been a pain they would not accept payment etc . finally got them to accept 57 per month on a £3,500 balance they will not stop interest but reduced it .
I have had a letter to confirm this but I opened my bill last month to find
£40 interest
£20 late payment It was paid 2 weeks before the agreed date
£20 for going over my limit because they charged me so much
almost £82.00 in charges
I have written to them telling them I am on an agreed dmp and asked for these unfair charges to be refunded but they have not
Do they have to ??
I agreed and kept to my part of the deal ,they have not
I spoke to someone on the phone and basically she said once the charges were on there was nothing they could do. which I think is rubbish .

  • Mt husband and I did a diy DMP for 4 years and Barclaycard were the only company who would not freeze interest. In the end we went for an IVA and have not had a phone call or letter since. Can I suggest that whenever you ring them you take a name and write it down. Keep records of all correspondence and phone calls.

    Good luck.

Barclaycard are reducing their charges to £12 each, but putting the interest up. Not a great help but £36 is better than £80.

As you say this is absolute rubbish. Ask to speak to someone in higher authority as there are people in all these companies who have the discretion to overturn any charges that have been levied.
