I need my mind put at rest.

My Northern Rock fixed rate deal isdue to end later on in the year. But i'm abit worried tho. I was planning to re-mortgage and see if i could get a better deal. But I've had a dispute with Vodafone lately, and they've put a default on my credit file. Now that this has happened there is probably no way of re-mortgaging now thanks to Vodafone. But what i would like to know is once my fixed term mortgage deal ends, do i automaticly go onto there SVR without a credit check or do they need to check your file again? If thats the case i'm knackered. Hope this makes any sense? Would like to know your thoughts? Thanks...

Regardless of whether you stay with the SVR or take a new rate with your current lender there will be no further credit check.
So you can put your mind at rest!

NB the above assumes you're not wanting to borrow any further money.

    PS welcome to MSE :)

With NR splitting up the mortgage book into good/bad bank.....many customers will find they're not being offered new deals other than remaining on the SVR. If you're on the SVR and want to move, you may find your recent hiccup with Vodaphone could be a disadvantge.....As lenders are very strict now....
