Loan - Early settlement

I took out a loan with Halifax for the total amount of £3010 (APR 19.84%) in December 08 for 32 months, which means my last payment would be in august 2011. I rung up Halifax and they gave me the settlement amount of £2145 valid until 05.02.10. I would like to pay off the amount as another 20 months is a bit long, and was wondering which way would be best. Also as my circumstances have changed, and I am in the position of paying off more on the credit card then the loan's fixed monthly amount.
I thought of making a balance transfer for the settlement amount from my Barclaycard (credit limit £3100) that gives me 0% on balance transfers until June 2010 (balance transfer fee 2.5%). Now as I can't pay off the settlement amount from Barclaycard until the offer runs out this year in June, I applied for Virgin CC with 0% interest balance transfer for 16 months (balance transfer fee 2.98%) and they accepted me with the credit limit of £1800.
As this amount is less then my settlement amount, would it be possible for me to balance transfer the settlement amount of £2145 from Barclaycard to Halifax to pay off the loan, and then balance transfer £1800 from Virgin to Barclaycard? The outstanding £345 on Barclaycard I would pay it off by June 10 as 0% balance transfer and also carrying on paying off Virgin CC until the end of 16 months interest free balance transfer?
Is it feasible to pay off the loan the way I thought? Can I balance transfer to Barclaycard a smaller amount than actually the amount balance transferred from Barclaycard to Halifax? How many balance transfers are you allowed to make on a CC?
Sorry for all this rambling, but any advice is much appreciated, never done balance transfers before and I’d like to get my homework right.

Thank you,
