I know that it's an incredible cost. My partner was told by his previous instructor that someone of his age (48) would take something like 156 hours!! That was on his first lesson, he then proceeded to huff and puff everytime he made a mistake. The new instructor has had to overcome the knock of confidence that was inflicted by the first.
He is so close now, it would be a huge waste of money for him to stop. Also he can't keep staying with his Mum all the week indefinitely!0 -

I have a free £500 overdraft on my account. Might it be worth changing banks?
That's interest on a £2,000 overdraft and £4,500 overdraft.0 -

A driving instructor who goes beyond this for 95% of his pupils is not doing his job correctly.0 -
How much do you have in savings , it's not reflected in the soa (unless it is down as £300 cash), the apr's on debts are also missing.
It is the £300 cash - might be a bit more I think, but I've not had a chance to check with DP. It's in his name.
I've not got the APRs to hand, but think most of them are 0%. Some are on a long term 5.9% and there is some high APR spending (which needs to be addressed).0 -

Are there costs associated with your mother in your SOA?Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
Yes, we buy most of the food, she buys some, but I've not included it. The things that she pays for are over and above (in the main) what we would pay anyway, so they've not been included.
Whilst I'm sure the gas and electric is a bit more and food too, she's saving to try and get a house of her own again, so the more we take from her the longer it will take so we're trying to do without.0 -
Do you seriously think you spend £1800 per year on presents?
i'd suggest cutting that to £20 or £30 a month tops. That's obscene!!!I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care
Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair0 -
There are plenty of jobs you can do without a driving licence0
