How do you make coloured popcorn kernals?

Hi all, I am doing a magic party for my son and would like to give 'magic popcorn' for the party bags. (unpopped kernals)

What I would like to know is how do you colour the kernals to make coloured popcorn when cooked?

I have seen how to colour them AFTER they are cooked but not before.:rolleyes:..anyone help..??

Erm not sure but I would experiment before making a decision as follows:

1. Try food dye ON the kernals then cook - not sure this would work.

2.: Injecting food colour into each kernal - bit timeconsuming!?

3. providing a little sachet of food colouring along with the kernals to be added after they've popped. Easiest solution methinks.
