Help with knitting

Hi everyone,
There is probably a thread already running where I might get the help I'm looking for, but I've looked, and can't find one.
I have picked up enough chenille wool in a charity shop to knit me a hat, I've got hat patterns, but the designs don't lend themselves to chenille..i.e. I've got one with a cable pattern, but the pattern would be lost if done in chenille. Can anyone tell me the best, easy pattern, that I could use, such as ..would moss stich do? I'm not a total novice at knitting, but not expert either.
Suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
Jackie
