    Hi vodkabarbie,

I can understand, I feel alot better about my situation now that I've got it all laid out in front of me. I know things won't get any worse because I'm completely aware of what I can and can't afford to do for the moment. And it feels great taking charge of it and not letting the creditors win.

    Good luck with it!

You seem to be doing really well in a highly commendable, organized way. Congratulations on starting to deal with it all so quickly.

  • GRRRR!!!

Just got a letter from the bank saying that a cheque I had written to pay off my ex-employer's debt at the beginning of July was presented last week and refused, because other things had came out of the account. I'm so annoyed one with the ex-employer for them taking so long to cash the cheque (their inefficiency was one reason I left!), and secondly at myself for not double checking if the cheque had been presented before paying other things!

So my debt total goes back up:wall:
My new classes I started up have came to an abrubt end due to the venue closing down, so that's that extra income gone! I'm seriously considering looking for an employer again, until I can get this mess sorted out. So frustrated!!!!!

  • Pay day, so have paid £35 to BF credit card. £18 to Next & £30 to MBNA, also £80 to BoS credit card came out last week. Another little chip!

Also made another £20 on quidco last night.

    Slowly but surely!

  • Right - thought it was time to do an update.

I've had a few set backs the last couple of months - but think I will be able to get back on track by December. This was due to laptop breaking, MOT repairs, working away from home. I've managed to transfer some of the debt to a 0% interest card and have put all the debt through the snowball calculator. This has told me the first debt to pay off is Beneficial Visa Card - so any ebay, amazon, quidco profit will be going directly to this as well as the payments outlined on the snowball. The snowball tells me that I will clear this in March 2007 - but I'm aiming for December 2007.

I just received a letter saying that I'm getting my bank charges refunded, so that's another £534 into the pot. So I'm aiming for December to close the Beneficial account!

I need to look at my SOA again - there are a few changes to it. The other good news is it looks like one of my contracts will be extended to 2008, and I have a load of people to contact about some extra work. I'm really busy until feb 07 so that's a good sign financially although none of it particularly well paid!

I'm off to try and generate some more cash! ;)
