I don't know if they were harvest mites, but a few years ago I suffered for several months in the summer with really annoying, awful itchy bites that seemed to happen in bed at night. GP said it wasn't scabies and prescribed antihistamines and the council came and checked for mites/bugs, they put sticky traps down but found nothing. I vaccuumed my room all over and the mattress too, washed all the bedding but I kept being bitten. Nobody else in my family had them. In the end I got some bedcovers from this company:

They weren't cheap but the bites stopped almost immediately, if that was due to whatever was biting me going away on it's own or the covers I can't say. But the bites stopped and I never had them again.Marsh Samphire0 -
Just noticed they do different types now, the ones I got are the "Active" range with permethrin in them.Marsh Samphire0

Maybe they are later up here but we generally only get them from August, cover any light coloured washing on the line and the window sills are full of the tiny blighters0

They are after all very small. Takes a long time to fly up to Scotland. :rotfl:0
