    So, basically, they're rubbish :rotfl:

Not in all areas, for example they updated this so that they no longer predicted a 75% chance of a milder than average winter.

OK, so it was done after 2 weeks of standing snow, but it does prove they have an excellent rapport with the "look out of the window" method of forecasting.

I have ventured outside, for the first time since Tuesday and it is awful out there. The main roads are ok but the pavements

Was thinking of going into work tomorrow, but have changed my mind. I will continue to work from home for as long as I can I think!

Well I'm back......and all the bits that should be on the inside are still where they should be!

And some bits on the outside are trying to get inside because it's warmer there...

Think its finished thawing here in Oxfordshire and the sky is heavy with something.....

Looks like you're in for a fun night then. That's the problem with thawing - when it doesn't work, things get awfully dicey...

    There's a reason for that.

Why not? Save the environment and stop global warming.

Since we first had snow on Tuesday, they've been saying it would be bad for another 10 days. They said the same thing this morning

  • Spud I'm confused too! They predicted snow at 3pm today and so far none but that's a good thing as it's starting to thaw.

Always look for precisely round numbers, it is a hint that someone pulled it out of where the sun don't shine.

It'll be bad until it isn't. It'll be longer than 3-4 days, because weather can be predicted fairly accurately that far. "Fairly accurate" being in the eye of the beholder, because apparently according to my weather forecast, I am currently enjoying temperatures of 3C... :rotfl:
