Good for you rose, do complain, newspaper vouchers are there to be used.

I have just sent a letter to Tesco HO complaining about a store which made me feel like a criminal for using a Sainsburys spend & save voucher (in date and with my name on) and some luncheon vouchers.

I agree with everything you say, Tesco need to watch their CS attitude right now as they have lost customers after stopping the coupon policy and will lose more if they continue to be so downright rude to those who still use a few LEGIT vouchers.

Tesco have lost my custom now. Just spent over £150 in Sainsburys today! :T

I only shop at Tesco as it is the only supermarket where I live. However Sainsbury, Waitrose and Morrisons are currently battling it out to build a new supermarket where I live so hopefully that will give them a run for their money. My OH is taking our daughter to the next town this evening for an evening out so I think I will go with him and try at that Tesco aswell. I will post how I get on.
  • Yes, please do complain. I recall a few years back with dd 18 months scanning Somerfield vouchers on a Tesco self-service till when the woman came up and pulled all the vouchers out of the till hopper and gave me a right old talking to. Fine if they weren't acceptable, but it was her attitude. I felt like I was defrauding Tescos. Money was even tighter then and the vouchers were a life-saver. I felt too embarrassed to complain at the time. Sorry for the thread hijack but it's great to get that off my chest.

No not a hijack of the thread. You're welcome. Complain away. The more of us the merrier. My sis who was with me and lives elsewhere though the Self Service assistant was quite rude telling us off for daring to pack our shopping and saying it was it could detect our presence by the scales. My sis told her if Tesco put in self service tills surely it would help if they worked properly. She also snatched some Beef Tomatoes off of us when my sis dared to try to weigh them. She practically screamed at us that they were individually priced and they were not Beef Tomatoes anyway. Funny that as the label said Beef Tomatoes! They were £1.00 each and I have just checked Tesco.com and they are only 50p each on there. So perhaps I have another reason to complain.

Yes too many Sa,s act like they are doing you a favour instead of implementing company policy, which very few including the store customer assistance staff appear to know very little about, its all very well head office saying what their policy is but if store staff dont` know it or are just awkward there is no point.. In the past we have given up and shopped elsewhere.

Sorry- must be being blonde- can you please tell me what I should be looking for? the link is for a past newspaper offers page, thursday? doubt I'll be able to pick up thursdays paper anymore and cannot see a gum offer on it anywhere?

Its for Nuffield- read earlier post, but its only for 2 days and I already have a 3 day pass for them so don't think I can take up the offer. Also my current gym membership (LAFitness) doesn't run out till feb so wont need the Telegraph offer.
    Thanx anyway though!

BTW- I've found the best way to react to sarc. sales assistants is to blantently laugh at them, then waltz over to customer services and complain- never let them think they have gotten to you, seems to make them mad!! (Sorry, I fnd it funny!! perhaps if they had a better attitude I wouldn't be so quick to pick on them!)

I think Jeferey was pointing you to post no.5, where he posted the gym details and also the chance to win (online) a two week membership for £5.
