finger less mittens pattern

I wonder if anyone has a easy to follow pattern for fingerless gloves? Ive seen a fantastic pair in the shops that are like mittens but you han flip open the top to make them fingerless. Id like a pair for my 6 year old and a pair for me.
Anyonw know of such a free pattern????

And a scarf like this, she likes the idea of the pockets to pop the gloves in, but i cant crochet i can only knit. xxx
