Can it be extended?

We're in the unfortunate position that 3 months after our offer was accepted and us being ready to move bar exchange, our vendor has effectivly pulled out.

Our Mortgage offer is valid till april, but that was on the current house. Are HSBC likely to allow us to keep this offer, pending a new valuation on another house if we find one? And how likely are they to extend it past April if we need them to?

Its such a pain losing all those fees - but thats life!

I had a similar thing happen to me, although i had never had a survey done as my original vendors were looking for a house to move to, which they never found. I found a new property and the mortgage offer from HSBC was reissued on the same basis as the original but for the new house. I completed on Jan 5th three days before the offer expired. Not sure whether they would extend it, but its worth talking to them if you find a property you want to purchase instead. Hope that helps to reassure you.
