If they are own brand ones take them back and get your money back as they do this with own brand if you are not happy with the product.

I put them in my homemade chicken fried rice, make sure you don't add any extra seasoning though if they are that salty
  • ^ Yes Id save them to put in chinese style dishes, anything with chicken and soy sauce!

I'd use them in cooking as above but would rinse them thoroughly in cold water first, then dry-fry for 2 mins to dry them off. Not recommended for the whole bag, just for each portion as you are about to use them.

you can remove a lot of the coating by putting some in a clean tea towel and rubbing like heck! do them in batches hun. I did this when i bought some of the ones with chilli coating by mistake. they were quite acceptable after that!
  • i made choc nut muffins today with dry roasters, i picked up the wrong bag in asda. Couldn't tell the difference.
It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

Thanks for the suggestion but I don’t think I have the courage do this …….have only ever done this when something was mouldy!:o

I honesty didn’t think of removing the seasoning…. Thougt it woud be impossible as they were dry roasted…… but will have a go at doing both the above thanks:D

I'd crush them roughly & sprinkle them on rice salads or eastern noodle dishes just before serving

Theres a briliant recipe of "walnut chicken" a chinse thing from a really old 70sSt Michael cookbook.

It basically is chicken nuggets instead of breadcrumbs rolled in chopped walnuts ( or peanuts) and deep-fried.

I have also thrown in handfuls of peanuts like this to stirfries, it really "gives it the edge". Also chilli flavour cashews you often see in poundshops are brill for oriental meals.
thanks for this thread I bought 3 drums of KP dry roasted peanuts yesterday  ( obv they were RTC) :D
