Wedding dress help!

You've all been so helpful I thought I'd see if you could help me again with this!

I've decided that I will get my dress from Landy or Milly but rather than commission them I'd like to get one they've already done or have on their site - just for peace of mind really.

The dress I really like is 'Grand Passion' by Alan Hannah. There are hardly any pictures of it available (it's similar to the bottom right dress on this page

but with an a-line skirt) so I wouldn't be confident getting them to make a copy from scratch! It's a simple a-line skirt and v-neck with straps. Can anyone suggest / link me to anything similar on landy or milly? There's so much to wade through!

It's the style I like; not necessarily the designer - I can't do strapless it just doesn't do anything for me and I know you're supported but I'm a bit top-heavy and i'd rather not go through it! A similar design by anyone else would be great

I've sent an email to landy and they've said they can make it BUT the picture doesn't really look exactly like the original so i'm a bit wary...

I can't find it anywhere on the internet - if you google it the first one that comes up is me wanting to buy one from sellmydress.co.uk!

Hmm, have you tried on a v neck? I only ask as I was convinced I wanted a v neck dress with straps, I'm 32DD and at the time was size 12/14 - the V neck with straps looked hideous on me because of my boobs and wasn't at all what I'd imagined. I ended up with a halterneck - effectively a straightacross top with a chiffon halter.

I was going to suggest a halter neck too, looked good on my sister (who clearly got all the boobs and left me as an A cup )

I tried on the v-neck one and it looked amazing (the one i've linked to above) - a woman in the shop with her very young (and very petite!) daughter almost cried and made her try the same one on. It didn't suit her at all though - I guess there really is a different dress for everyone!

I liked it because it was classy, elegant, no bling, no lace, no detailing, no poofiness...

I tried on others and they just didn't compare. I am not exactly slim, (although i'm not fat either and I know how to dress my curves, I'm currently a 36D so i'm not ridiculous or anything but they're there and i can't ignore them!), and so big poofy skirts are out I'm a size 14 at the moment, probably be a size 12 by the wedding but no smaller than that!

Oh and halternecks aren't great on me (tried and tested) - I have wide-ish shoulders and it makes me look too wide!

I'm going to try to add a pic I have found...

That looks gorgeous, as long as you've had a good try on then you'll be OK. Certainly for me I had a vision of how my dress would look and the dress I had in my mind looked awful!

My dress was very simple, with a chiffon skirt as I didn't want big and puffy! I'm only 5ft 3 and what being short and the boobs it was all a bit tricky!
