the o.u course

i remembered reading last week about someone (sorry can't remember who) talking about the o.u course you and your money just wanted to say thanks i signed up for it ..now i know it costs "295 but in Scotland you get what is known as an I.L.A thing that gives you £200 towards studying so i'm only gonna have to find £95 and i have the full term time to find it (they usually take it off your bank it doesn't add up to much a month) and i really think this may just be another bit of help that i could be doing with ..so i just wanted to say thanks and if anyone else is thinking of it let me know

Are there any conditions attached to the £200?

yeah you have to earn less than £15,000 but if you earn more than £15,000 you still get £100 a year so it would only cost you £195 that way ..

Ah that's a shame. I earn too much to do this. I am a teacher and would like to do an ou psychology degree in order to become an educational psychologist. I can't afford ou fees as I am a single parent and don't have that much spare money in my budget. The £100 would help, but is still probably more than I can afford. i am still trying to do up a house that I bought in poor condition.

    Hi Prudent,

    If you try here, http://www3.open.ac.uk/courses/about/p6_1.shtml
you still might be entitled to some financial support.

If your in the England or Northern Ireland try the ready reckoner
    http://www3.open.ac.uk/coursefinance/
which could give you some help with your fees.

Hope this is of some help to you.
