Thanks to everyone this morning, its a real help to get different points of view. Vets opened at 9am and he was the first to be seen. He has a puncture wound at the base of his tail. He's now dosed up with pain killers and anti-biotics and snoozing peacefully. Have to take him back on Monday to check for infection etc. He looks so much happier and have a feeling he will get something nice for his tea! lol
    Thanks again to everyone

Just incase you're worrying about it now... they cope very well with an amputated tail! Charlie lived a happy life until he died several years later from an unrelated illness. Didnt want to scare you

Let us know how the vet trip goes

Also cope well if they ever end up losing a leg just as a btw... tripod, down to 8 lives and apparently determined to spend them all hogging the sofa asleep says hi.

Mine also likes to lie on black computer chairs (she's black and white) with her legs up in the air and claws out! Rather a painful experience if you don't check what you're putting your rear on before sitting down to surf the net.
