Advice please! Mackenzie Hall Ltd / J2 Solution

Hi!
Don't know if this is the right place to post-just looking for some advice really. Got a free trial of equifax and I've noticed a credit search was carried out by Mackenzie Hall Ltd / J2 Solution at the end of april 2008. The reason given was due to an outstanding debt. As far as I'm aware I have had no late payments on any account since the end of 2005.
Is this something I sould be concerned about and how long will this show on my credit report? I thought it only showed searches in last 12months or so.
Any advice would be great thanks!

There are 2 types of credit search:
Hard - where you have applied for credit and creditors can see what accounts you have, how much credit and how many other credit searches have been done.
Soft - this is for companies to check your details such as address data but cannot be seen by other creditors.

It is only the credit checks that have taken place when you have applied for credit that can be seen by other companies and as long as you have less than 3 credit searches in a 6 month period, the number of searches shouldn't have much of an impact on your credit score.

    Thanks for the info!
I've never heard of them before so just a unsure as to why they'd want to access my details. Not heard anything from them so hopefully no news is good news and I've found out that the check will only show until April this year
