As for the repair to the car/cars..? Did you use this car...? If not you cannot be held accountable for the cost of repair. What about these other guys..? Are they paying the same as you.?. Ask for the invoice they got for the cost of repair, i bet it never cost anywhere near what you and your work colluges have been deducted.0 -

The OP has asked whether he can take the matter to an Employment Tribunal. You are, effectively saying "yes, but commit perjury to win."
I don't know how much is at stake and I know the chances of prosecution for perjury are low, but is it worth the risk of a possible jail sentence of up to 14 years? Also how do you fancy sharing the same cell as him when you get convicted for conspiracy?0 -

Interesting point of view. As far as I am aware there is no "tariff" of awards and it is unlikely that, if that is the only defect, the employer will definitely have an award made against him.
As for not knowing about whether deductions could be made the OP was pretty certain at the beginning that the employer had made it known to all employees, by memo, that deductions would be made, and he apparently consented to this change in his, albeit unwritten, contract terms by continuing to work.
I am not saying that the employer would win, but you do the OP a disservice by saying that he definitely will. Matters on an internet forum are rarely so black and white when it comes to a properly constituted hearing.0 -

I am not planning on lying about anything, I just wanted some advice for the situation I am in, not how I can best get around the rules.
It seems it comes down to the memos my boss sent out and wether they constitute a change in working conditions even though I had no contract or had not agreed to the terms of the memos.0
