Treasury Solicitor paying corporation tax

I closed my company prior to paying the corporation tax and now the funds are held to order of the treasury solicitor. Can I get the Treasury Solicitor to pay the outstanding amount or do I have to re-incorporate my company?

If the company has been dissolved, the Treasury Solicitor is holding the funds "bona vacanta" on behalf of the Crown. This is a procedure set out in the Comapnies Act and is similar to someone who dies intestate without any hiers.
You can check the company's status on the Companies House web site.
To get at the money you have do have to re-incorporate the Company. There are firms of solicitors who specialise in this for about £500, they tend to advertise in accountancy magazines, because people in this position usually ask accountants to help sort it out.0
