static electricity on lining

I have just bought a lined skirt and the lining is full of static which clings to my legs. Are there any old style ways of dealing with this.

I don't want to wash the skirt as I may take it back as it is hard to judge if I like it when I am so aware of the lining.

Thanks

    You cant really spray anything onto it if theres a chance you want to take it back.

    Have you tried it without tights on, maybe this is where the static is ciming from.

    Usually, softener in the was gets rid of static.
