Hello this is my first post. I want to clear my debts or make a good start this year. I suffer from SADs (Winter depression) so find paperwork during the winter very hard to deal with. Can anyone state in a simple form please how I start dealing with debt. Im off sick from work at present and my monthly income is £400. Waiting to see if Im entitled to any benefit. Thank you for your advice. I find this website very helpful and interesting but there is just too much information (which is a great thing) for me to deal with at present. Sorry if this is too long will try harder next time. x
PS. Not very good with computer lingo etc.

I'm sure the experts will be along in a while, but to help you people really need to know what your debt is - how much, who you owe, and at what interest rates, maybe try posting your SOA which will help people advise you better.
You've already made the first step by admitting you need help with your debt so well done!0 -

How much debt are you talking about?
How much do you currently have to pay off your debts?Would you ask the wolves to look after the sheep?

Hi!
A lot of people recommend posting a Satement of Affairs so that people can pick out where you can make savings etc.....
I've attached it above - hopefully it works!
Good luck.

Hi Frenchgirl...and welcome

I am by no means an expert, but most people here will tell you that you need to start out by listing all your outgoings, debts, credit card aprs and whatnot to see exactly where you stand. There is a very easy tool in this forum called an SOA (Statement of Affairs) Calculator, which you can find on a sticky note at the top of this Debt-Free Wannabe forum (sorry I can't post a link to it). Once you've filled it out, you can post it in the forum and many lovely people will help you to make a start on paying off those debts and starting your journey towards a debt-free future
I do sympathise with you suffering the blues at this time of year, as it can get to us all, but being proactive about it all might even make you feel a little brighter and in control whilst the weather isn't
I wish you luck

Hi
OK. I assume when you are working that is not a problem.
Can you check www.entitledto.com so see if you can get any additional help.
Also, please remember that the priority is rent/mortgage, CT, food and utilities. Other stuff can wait.
Do you have PPI on any loans, cards, etc? If so, can you claim? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
