Started to use my kitchen a lot more these days and noticed a sticky greasy type residue on most kitchen surfaces since(Especially near the hobs so would assume vegtable oil)
I've tried hot soapy water, soda crystals but the surfaces still feel greasy - Are the any products that will help?

Hello jules01
I'll move your thread over to the 'Old Style' board, where the cleaning experts will help you.;)
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. What i use on my greasy hobs is vinegar and bicarb of soda, it fizzes up and cuts through the grease really easily, i do rinse it down after with cold water, otherwise im left with a white residue. Ive also just been a convert to stardrops, i use it diluted to clean my bathroom and kitchen worktops, but havnt actually tried it on my hob yet, i would guess that it would work best undiluted and im sure it would give good results!!!!0

I've found that horrid stuff on top of my kitchen cupboards - as you say, seems to be grease being deposited, along with presumably dust and steam. I've found a solution of Oxiclean works realy well. Needs rinsing too, though, otherwise you get a similar white residue to the one catowen mentions.0

I have had this on top of my kitchen cupboards in the past but now lay newspaper down and change it every few weeks, so it all keeps clean and is easy to maintain.
For work surfaces I use a vinegar solution mixed with water and this cuts through grease well. I always try to wipe down as soon as any cooking has been done.

I used to have real problems with this too, but about a year ago I discovered this eco friendly cleaning stuff called Simple Green - I got it off of QVC but you can get it on ebay cheaper I think. You get a big bottle of concentrate which doesn't smell and has no colour and you dilute it in bottles which come in the pack. There are also some aromatherapy tablets which you can dissolve in the stuff if you want (they smell really nice and are all natural. for about £14 you get enough for 18 bottles of cleaner and I think it is just fantastic. They say that it is completely chemical free and there is certainly no smell or taint, and it just glides through grease and limescale (not the stuff in the toilet, just the sink and taps) and you can use it all over the house. I tend to do the house cleaning with stardrops and microfibre cloths, but I use the simple green for the kitchen surfaces, sink and cupboards and the hob, splashback and so on, and I also use it clean my laminate floors - I hoover them and then spray the SG on and wipe with my microfibre mophead. If you live near the QVC shop in Warrington you can get the kit for £6.99 which is what I do now.Jane

I use diluted Lemon Flash in hot water and one of those micro cloths which you can buy in hardware shops, or a sponge. The Flash is pretty effective but it can quickly strip all the natural oils in your skin as well as removing grease off the surface of cupboards etc, so make sure you wear a good pair of protective gloves. If the grease is very thick, you may need two applications.0

There is a previous thread about cleaning ovens. Ovenpride is the best.0

I`ve used Fairy power spray for my cupboards before, but this week i`ve been using Cif with bleach spray, and its really shifting the grease off the top of my units.0

I've found bicarb mixed into a paste with a bit of water and applied with a microfibre cloth was the only thing that would shift the grease from my cooker hood.0
