Help for mature student with mortgages

Hi
Can anyone help my partners 27 and owns his own home, hes a full time student. Is there any help he can get with his mortgage and council tax as he obviously won't we working and will need the help of me and his family to help him pay it. Is there any other help available for him.

firstly, full time students don't have to pay any council tax (if he has people living with him, then they still have to pay, but he personally doesn't). he needs to send off proof of his student status to the council, most universities offer a standard letter for this.

hes a college at present so could he get his council tax paid for?

If he can't afford to pay the mortgage he should give some thought to taking in a lodger to help towards the monthly payments. Other than that there is no help available for him with his mortgage.
Council tax should be covered as he lives alone. Contact local council tax office for relevant application form.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

Hi, im also a student with a mortgage,also a single parent, i could find no help with mortgage payments .
So i have a part time job ,its hard work but it will be worth it in the end :j0 -
Full time students are exempt from council tax.
Also as he is over the age of 25 he does not have to go through means testing so he is eligible for the full student grant that he does not have to pay back. This comes to about £2800 per year.
