Suit hire

I'm looking for suits for OH, ushers and best man, preferrably from a chain store so everybody can pick up from their local store (we're scattered quite widely), but I'm not sure where would be best/cheapest? Anyone got any recommendations for good value suit hire?

You could try moss, just thinking as they are a chain.Bump due 22nd September0

I was going to suggest Moss too, I know you can buy a suit for £100 there so I dont think hire would be too expensive, although they almost definitely wouldnt be the cheapest.
Have you thought about ordering suit hire online? You could have the suits delivered to their addresses then.Mummy to

I heard somewhere on here that Moss are rubbish for when the suit is needed and they forget things and the suits don't fit when they arrive so just be wary of them. What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0

I've found Formal Affair have a special offer on, and they actually have light grey suits so I'll probably be going with them. Thanks guys.Saving for a house deposit.

Hi, we're using Youngs Hire (sometimes within the Suits You stores).
We are hiring 6 outfits - jacket, trousers, shirt, cravat, fancy waistcoat (apparently these cost more than a normal waistcoat!) and a handerchief. They cost £75 each to hire, with £6 added to each to cover any damage to the suit, and as we're hiring more than 4 or 5, the groom goes free, only having to pay the £6. Total of £411. Although we actually paid less than this as we had a 10% off voucher from the National Wedding Show.
PS - I have also heard bad things about Moss' suit hire.Bride to Be - 28th August 2010 :dance:0 -
I looked at hiring suits, and for the money, it's actually cheaper to buy one of Tesco's better suits. Ours worked out at £40 each, for a three piece suit. The shirts were £9 each but I asked the guys to buy their own. I bought cravats as well, they worked out £3 each as I bought a bulk pack on the internet from Tie Factory.GREENS M'SHIP OFFER NOW CLOSED SO PLEASE DON'T ASK ME!Olympic Debt-free Challenge £2150/£11900 = 18.0%NOW INVESTIGATING AN ALTERNATIVE TO MY IVA - I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ONE ANY MORE!0

My fiance was best man at a wedding where they hired from Moss Bros, the suits were really bad quality, had bobbles on etc, and others have said their cs is really awful. Don't add to the stress!! Good idea Pete*G will check that out we need 6 as well.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

We're using Slaters menswear. My sister used them for her wedding and they were fantastic. They seem to be slightly cheaper than some of the other stores as well.

I've experience using Moss as an usher and wouldn't recommend them. Everyone needed to change things as the sizes were wrong and they only give you a couple of days before the wedding so it's a rush sorting it all out
We're using Youngs as in a similar situation as you, everyone is scattered across the country. Unlike Moss/Debenhams, Youngs have a really good online system and so I put the order in for everyone (with different stores for measuring, collection and return) and so all my ushers/fathers etc have to do is head into their store and get measured (all their details are already on the computer). then they pick them up 10 days before from their store of choice and so that gives plenty of time for them to change stuff if need be. to save problems my mum is collecting all the suits after and returning them to 1 store. so we think it's really easy and saves a lot of potential problems near the actual day.
Plus we think the selection is really nice, the stores generally have a lot of stock in so you can actually try on different sizes, and they're cheaper than Moss too!
So far we've got nothing but good things to say about them, and also I've had to ring a few times (to different stores) to change little details and they've always been really helpful.
Hope this helps!
