PS Old V PS New?

There is so much talk about the new Playstation by Sony but which is best?

What do people think?

My kids are at me to buy them one and I thought that now that the madness of Xmas is over I will try and find one for them.

So I need your help guys.

1. Which is better PS old OR PS new? &

2. What are the best deals out there on these things, old & new?

The old playstation is limited in games that are available but games that are available are generally a lot cheaper as it is an old system. Graphics are good but playstation 2 is far superior. Also PS2 can also play DVD's. Only drawback to PS2 in my opinion is the price of the games which range from £40.00 upwards for most of the latest most popular games.

You can play old PS games on PS2 but you can't play new PS2 games on old PS. I am sure someone will be along soon to recommend sellers and prices.

raptorman - I think you have got the wrong end of the stick.

As I read it - what is best old PS2 or new slimline PS2.

If this is the case, there is not much in it unless you want to go online. the major differences is the inclusion of a built in network adapter and infra red port. There are many cosmetic differences but these do not effect the performance....hope this helps (ps you can add a network adapter to the old 'fat' PS2 for about 20 quid)

Come on guys.... Kids driving me crazy and the weekend is coming up very fast.

I need a cheap PS2 and also a cheap portable TV.

Just had a quick look and as far as I can see Argos is as good as anywhere at £99.99 :-/

Just been out and have seen PS2 (slimline version) with controller and wireless controller plus 3 games at Dixons for 149.99

Is this good? can I get a cheaper bundle?

it sounds reasonable to me and abt the same as some of the offers that were going abt at christmas,, what you have to ask yoruself is do you want to hang out to see if you can save a few quid for a few weeks and get the oh come on we want it a dozen times a hour from your kids lol
