I think I'm a few days early, but I was wondering when the July Grocery Challenge thread would be starting? I didn't want to tread on any toes, but I wanted to get on board as I'm being mega tough on myself this month and am going to cut back to the bone.

Hi Keren,
The Grocery Challenge usually gets posted on the 28th of the month. If I get time though, I'll try to put it up for you later today.

My grocery challenge started on the 25th June till 25th July(payday!)
I had with help from this site cut back from about £90 to £100 down to £70 a week for 2 adults and 2 adult sized teenage boys but due to finances have got to cut back some more:rolleyes:
I set a budget of £50 a week and so far my first week went well.I have spent £38.70 so far and am going to try and not touch the tenner by the time the next £50 is due. We have plenty of grub in and as far as I can see the only thing I'll need is milk.Do what you love :happyhear0 -
I always try with the grocery challenges but fail woefully. I feel really inadequate but whatever I do I cannot get below about £90 a week for stuff for me and two DD's and dog. I go to the supermarket with a list, but am always tempted by bogofs and the like, and I always seem to have a cupboard and freezer full of stuff but not the makings of a meal, if you know what I mean. I am going to try again for July, as, reading this thread, I think I should only be spending about £30 a week.Jane

I'm going to be doing the challenge.
Aiming for £120, but have a budget of £160 (as there are ALWAYS things I forget or we run out of no matter how hard I try! ) Good thing is this is the last month when I have to buy packed lunch drinks for DD until September so I'm already planning my attack for stocking up on thoseStill have to make OH packed lunches but he's a bit easier to cater for since he can have anything :rotfl: Right, off I go shopping...
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
