  • Not for myself, but one of my sisters had a string quarter on arrival and then a casino after the dinner. The other sister got one of my parents' friends to play the flute during the pre-dinner drinks.

In all honesty I think you only need background music and maybe something to keep any kids occupied before the meal. That's normally the point when people get a drink and mill about talking.

depanding on the weather the photos will be taken outside so dont want the kids running around after all bless they would of been sat in the church for a hr
  • Im praying for nice weather as we are having our reception at a Racecourse. The track itself is free for the children to run wild on it if they so wish. They also provide footballs and space hoppers for the children to use.

During the meal we are having background music - have downloaded several CD's by Vitamin which is classical rock music. Will keep our guests entertained hopefully guessing the tracks - November Rain classical style is ACE! During the speaches we have hired 2 childminders to look after the children - we have 16 coming all with the majority being under 5! Our wedding reception is a 40 minute drive from place where we will be getting married so it will be a long day for little ones and by the time we get to speaches we thought they would be really fed up! One of them is my little boys childminder so I trust her 100%. She is doing games with the children and some ballon blowing etc in a room attached to the room where we will be eating/having speaches so the children will still be able to see their parents through the glass partition but can come and go as they please.

In the evening we have hired a local band, although not cheap, they are really good and lots of our guests have seen them before and reckon they pack the dance floor which is what we want!
