I thought they were all panels, no matter if they come with a tuner or not?? If not please advise!

I must be getting old there was a time a 24" telly was massive!
Any how not wanting to put anyone off I'll be avoiding Plasma tellys for a bit after I heard the manager at my local Comet say it was a bad time to buy one.
