WW2 family night info needed

I am planning a World war 2 family night in (cheap night for fun). I am planning a meal of Woolton Pie followed by a cake typically made in war time.
Today on Market Kitchen they were tasting an egg-less sponge cake made with marg with jam in the middle which would be great as my DH won't eat sultanas, currants etc, but i can't find the recipe for it and i've been searching the web for ages...does anyone have a recipe they can share with me?
Also....does anyone know any games that people typically played in war time that we can play with children?
My DD1 &DD2 are really looking forward to our WW1 night so anyother ideas that will enhance the night will be really appriciated..
Thankyou

We do not have a TV in the house and one of the games we played when the children was younger was
Everyone had to name a place/car/boys name/girls name/fruit going down the alphabet.
I would be A, DD would be B,DS1 would be C and so on.
Example....Alan, Brian, Colin, Derek, Eric.
Does that make sense? You could get the jigsaws out or play hangman, depending on age, anyone musically minded in your house?
The children used to "put on a play" now and then, that was always fun, hopefully you will do this more often, one night a week without the TV really does a family good, you all reconnect.
Not sure about the cake,,,,If you can't find it what about carrot cakeEbay 13........1583.46/2000.00 Amazon sales 54/50 Etsy sales 63/50

I don't know if this is the type of thing you mean kippers - one of my Christmas presents was The Black-Out Book by Evelyn August. It has over 500 games, puzzles and jokes that people entertained themselves with during the Blitz. The book costs £9.99 but you might be able to find a copy at the library perhaps?
Enjoy your WWII night!0 -
Have you been reading the Marguerite Patten book by any chance?
Definitely think you should do the whole thing by candle-light, much more exciting!0 -
I've searched the Market Kitchen links and can't come up with a recipe for egg-free cake either. But I did find these if any use: http://www.recipes4us.co.uk/specials%20and%20holidays/special%20diets%20allergies/Eggless%20Sponge%20Cake%20Veg%20CD%20CBF%2040mins%20plus%20cooling.htm

That particular cake recipe probably came from a Wartime Cookery Book.0 -
